The Parsonage Inn is an elegant and historic bed and breakfast in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. Pastors Steven and Deb Koster offer five bedrooms in their Queen Anne home, built in 1882 and located in the gorgeous Heritage Hill neighborhood in West Michigan’s largest city.

The parsons behind The Parsonage Inn are pastors Steven and Deb Koster. They love ministry and hospitality and have a heart for healthy marriages and families. That vision eventually developed, in part, into opening The Parsonage Inn. Deb and Steven are both graduates of Calvin Theological Seminary and ordained ministers in the Christian Reformed Church in North America. They enjoy leading marriage retreats and family seminars to encourage people in their most intimate relationships. They are the parents of three awesome young adults who also reside in Grand Rapids.

Located on the Grand River, the Kent County seat of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is one busy place! Check into one of the local inns or bed and breakfasts, and we’ll guide you through some of the many activities available to the Grand Rapids vacationer. This is Michigan’s second-largest city and was named for the river rapids in the area. The Christian Reformed Church calls Grand Rapids home, as well as Aquinas College, Calvin College, Cornerstone University, Davenport University, and Kendall College of Art and Design. These institutions aren’t the only places for learning. The Voigt House Victorian Museum, the Van Andel Museum Center, and the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium are several of the great places to see for fun and educational purposes alike. Grand Rapids is also a great destination for the symphony, the zoos, and the many galleries. Shopping, dining, sightseeing, and outdoor activities–golfing in particular–abound here in Grand Rapids. It will be difficult to find a chance to catch your breath!

Right across the street from us is Frank Lloyd Wright’s Meyer May House, now a museum meticulously restored by Steelcase. Admission is free but hours are limited. Check before planning your stay around this magnificent example of the architect’s work.
Also nearby is the boyhood home of President Gerald R. Ford, a Grand Rapids native; it is a private home. The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum, one of only 14 presidential library museums in the country, offers an outstanding historical perspective of the Vietnam War era, the civil rights movement, and the scandals of the Richard M. Nixon presidency.
About a mile to our northwest is the downtown core and all the riches of an urban center, offering cultural venues like the Civic Theater, Grand Rapids Public Museum, Grand Rapids Arts Museum, ArtPrize, St. Cecilia Music Society, and so much more.

An area a few blocks to our east is a hub for restaurants, pubs, coffee houses, and boutiques. The Wealthy Street corridor stretches for miles through Uptown, Eastown, and to Gaslight Village at Reeds Lake.
The Wealthy Street Bakery is our favorite spot for baked goods and sandwiches within easy walking distance. Next door is the Art of the Table, our local wine shop, spirits cellar, and home decor source.
Nearby is Rowster Coffee, offering the best coffee and specialty beverages in the neighborhood, and MoKAYA, for artisan chocolates and confections for your sweet tooth.
The Winchester is our local gourmet pub, renowned for both its cocktails and its dishes. Across the street, we have Donkey Taqueria, Johnny B’z (for hot dogs, burgers, and BBQ), and the Elk Brewing taproom. Zivio is a lovely spot for romantic meals featuring the cuisine of Bosnia, Turkey, Greece, and other Central European countries.
Being the in heart of Beer City, we are surrounded by craft beer and breweries. The nearest tap room is probably Elk Brewing, just an easy walk to the east. A bit further in Eastown is Harmony Brewing and pizza. A bit north on Cherry Street is the fabulous Brewery Vivant (we recommend the duck nachos). To our west is the world-famous Founders Brewery, which also has great food, brewery tours, and a fully stocked gift shop. And of course, the downtown core has many more, including the Grand Rapids Brewing Company, Atwater Brewing, New Holland’s Knickerbocker, Harmony Hall, and more pubs than we can count. You can even join the Grand Rapids Brewsader program and check off all the breweries on your Beer Passport.
