One fun Saugatuck attraction is the Star of Saugatuck steam wheeler, which tours Lake Michigan. The river here is an awesome sight, with 900 yachts and sailboats making their home here. Saugatuck is the sister city to Douglas. The two towns flank the Kalamazoo River where it flows into Lake Michigan. Together they are known as the Art Coast of Michigan, and with good reason. During the warmer months, there is live music weekly in the park at the Wicks Park Gazebo. Farmers bring fresh produce into the weekly Farmer’s Market. The Annual Waterfront Film Festival in June features movie world premiers, workshops, and parties. The Chamber Music Festival ensures that folks can listen to lovely live music most weekends. The Venetian Festival features a lovely lighted boat parade and a classic car and auto show…. The list of events is as inexhaustible as the energy of this town.

Shop the many galleries and boutiques for the holidays, and end the year watching fireworks over the harbor in Saugatuck.
