About Dutch Colonial Inn

In a town celebrated for its Dutch heritage, choose the beautiful Dutch Colonial Inn bed and breakfast not only for its stately setting but also for the authentic hospitality you will experience in the Elenbaas home. The setting is a charming, quiet, residential neighborhood in the quaint town of Holland. Built as a wedding gift, this 1928 home has been restored and renovated to accommodate the needs of guests. We offer Dutch hospitality at its finest along with a delicious full breakfast.

The inn offers five lovely guest rooms and suites with king- or queen-size sleeping accommodations and two-person Jacuzzi tubs. The fireplace adds to the wonderful ambiance in the suites along with elegance and charm. The romantic suites offer a wonderful atmosphere for a honeymoon, anniversary or birthday celebration, or just a getaway. Several spacious common areas offer plenty of room for relaxing, reading, or gathering with fellow guests.

Mahogany and cherry furnishings from the 1930s and an extensive collection of Ruby flash thumbprint glassware collection enhance the beauty of the Inn.

Innkeepers for three decades, Bob and Pat treasure the compliments of guests, including this one: “Bob and Pat were, without a doubt, the most gracious innkeepers we have ever met. The inn is beautiful and we did not want to go home. The inn was so much more beautiful than anywhere we had ever been before. The food was delicious and the hospitality was beyond exceptional. Wonderful! Magnificent! Great People!”

A Little Bit Of History

The Dutch Colonial Inn Bed and Breakfast originated as a family residence. The initial structure, built in 1928, served as a wedding gift for the bride and groom. The warmth of the innkeepers permeates the home, along with lovely antiques and furnishings from the 1930s. Spacious common areas include a delightful wicker-clad sun porch; a formal yet cozy living room; an airy music room that opens to a private side patio; an elegant parlor with leather armchairs adjacent to the second-floor guest rooms; and the front porch with white wooden rockers.

UNIQUE EXPERIENCES AT Dutch Colonial Inn

Lighthouses & Waterways

The Holland Lighthouse, known as “Big Red,” is located in the channel area connecting Lake Macatawa with Lake Michigan. Lake Macatawa is a residential lake that houses beautiful homes on both the south and north sides and is very close to our unique downtown. Kollen Park located on Lake Macatawa has a wonderful walkway along the water. The Boatwerks Restaurant also located on Lake Macatawa offers enjoyable outdoor dining in the warm months. Enjoy great food and relax as you watch the water traffic and yes you would be able to take your watercraft to the restaurant, dock it and enjoy your time at the Boatwerks.

Cool City

Holland deserves its awards as one of the most beautiful small town cities in America and also one of the most friendly. Our brick sidewalks and our streets are heated, so there is no snow in downtown Holland during our winter months. An outdoor fireplace in the heart of downtown even has heated seats so you are able to enjoy ice cream as your heart desires and stay warm and cozy on those cool fall and cold winter nights. The Dutch Colonial Inn is also an award-winning B&B as we are voted the #1 Bed and Breakfast in Holland! We are now beginning our 33rd year!
