One of the most fun ways to travel to Ludington is by car ferry from Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Ludington sits on Lake Michigan in Northwest Michigan. The Lamplighter Bed & Breakfast provides a large, private parking lot to accommodate our guests’ trailers hauling boats, jet skis, and other water toys. Call ahead and we’ll make sure we reserve space for you.

Lake Michigan’s coastline is truly beautiful when the trees and forests come to life with color! Hit the road for the traditional M-22 color tour, or stick around the Ludington area and explore local orchards and back roads that come to life with color. Follow PM Highway South of Ludington to any of the country roads – Chauvez, Hawley, or Kistler. Go north along US-10 or take the country roads (Sugar Grove, Reek, Fountain and Custer) that bypass three small lakes and enjoy amazing fall scenery. Reservations and House Policies
To receive our Best Available Rate at any time of year, we recommend booking directly with us via our website, or over the phone. While oftentimes we require 2-night minimum stays during the “peak season” of May-September, or during local special events, we’ll occasionally make exceptions. Call us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your travel schedule!

Deposits
Cancellations
very reservation we receive is important and special to us. We take great care in preparing for your arrival – from room preparation to creating a breakfast menu suited to your dietary needs. We sincerely appreciate each reservation we receive! It means we’ve committed to having your room ready and available upon your arrival.
While we understand that life isn’t always predictable and that plans change, we do request that you contact us no less than 7 (seven) days prior to your check-in date to let us know of your changes. At that time, your deposit will be refunded, less a $20 cancellation fee.
Any reservation updates and/or cancellations received less than 7 (seven) days prior to your check-in date will result in the loss of your deposit.
Reservations for three or more rooms and whole-house bookings have a 30-day cancellation policy and a 50% non-refundable deposit taken at the time you make your reservation.
Arrival & Check Out Times
Check-in – We look forward to greeting you between 4 and 6 PM on the day of your arrival.
Check-out – 11 AM on the date of departure
If you are unable to arrive during our standard check-in time, please be sure to contact us ahead of time so that we can make other arrangements. For those arriving in Ludington on the S.S. Badger Car Ferry, please check the “Car Ferry” box during the reservation process so we know you’ll be arriving after 7 PM. During the months of May through October, we will do our best to accommodate early check-in / late departures; however, we may not always be able to do so.
Smoking
The Lamplighter Bed & Breakfast home, patio, gazebo, and gardens are smoke-free. Guests may use the private parking lot as the designated smoking area. A $250 cleaning fee will be assessed should a guest choose to smoke indoors.
Children
We adore children and happily welcome well-behaved kiddos aged 7 (seven) and older! Children under the age of 7 (seven) are welcome in the event of a whole-house rental. Please contact us for additional information.
Pets
We also adore (most) animals; however, to ensure the comfort of all our guests, we are unable to accommodate guests’ pets. We will happily work with you to make arrangements for your pet at a local boarding facility.
