New Owners Take the Helm at the Prairieside Suites B&B

Seeing what happens when new owners purchase a bed and breakfast is always fun. And it’s often been said that the owners truly are the heart of the property. After interviewing Jeanine Foster, the new owner of the Prairieside Suites (along with her husband Steve), and learning about their vision for this romantic property, it became evident that all the hospitality and warmth, along with all the romance that this award-winning inn is known for, will continue and grow.

Steve and Jeanine have always enjoyed staying at bed and breakfasts. They both love to travel and entertain, two wonderful ingredients to being an innkeeper. While recently staying at a bed and breakfast in Maine, the couple decided that owning a bed and breakfast would be in their future and that they should start planning and saving for this dream. After they came home, Jeanine decided to visit with the innkeeper Jen at the Prairieside, just down the street from the family’s home, to learn what it was like being an innkeeper. She started working at the inn, which included preparing breakfast, greeting guests, and scheduling massages. it was very serendipitous that several months later, the owners of the inn decided that it was time to sell Prairieside.

Future Plans for the Prairieside Suites B&B

The couple has quickly fit into the life of being innkeepers, with Steve beautifying all the outdoor grounds and Jeanine working with the innkeeper Jen to freshen up the inn’s interior and guest rooms. New towels and spa linen have already been replaced, and Jeanine is researching the perfect bed linen. Guests love receiving their breakfasts delivered to their rooms, and Jeanine envisions adding the option for guests to dine together in the inn’s common areas. Breakfasts will continue to be an important part of the day, with everything being homemade and fresh.

Taste some sugary, seasonal sweetness from Tippy Cow Ice Cream, chill for some of the best pizza of your life (& alcohol) at Peppino’s Pizzeria & Sports Grille (short car ride), and end with a relaxing nightcap & nibbles at Michigan Moonshine.
