Nestled along the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan, the Inn of Saugatuck beckons travelers seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As the sun casts its golden glow over the waters of Lake Michigan, guests find solace in this charming bed and breakfast—a place where history, comfort, and natural beauty converge.

The inn is located in Southwest Michigan on the popular Butler Street in Saugatuck.  Here’s why this destination holds a special place in many hearts:

Beach Bliss and Panoramic Views

The Saugatuck-Douglas area boasts several beautiful beaches along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Here are some of our favorites:

  •  Oval Beach is the crown jewel of Saugatuck’s Lake Michigan beaches and has been recognized as one of the top beaches in the USA and among the world’s top 25 beaches. Imagine rolling dunes, a panoramic horizon across the lake, and a scene straight from a postcard. National Geographic ranked Oval Beach as one of the top freshwater beaches in the country. Amenities include modern bathrooms and concessions. Easy parking is available for $10 per day, or you can take the Saugatuck Chain Ferry from downtown Saugatuck for $2 per person each way. Enjoy sunbathing, swimming, and breathtaking sunsets at Oval Beach. Bike riding is a popular means of transportation, and you’ll find complimentary bikes available at the Rosemont Inn, where you can bike country roads, dine, shop, and visit local beaches.
  • West Side County Park is located in the neighboring town of Fennville and is known for its spectacular sunsets that can be enjoyed by using an ADA-accessible ramp that takes you right to the sandy beach of Lake Michigan.  A gazebo overlooking the lake is the perfect spot for a picturesque wedding or to enjoy the view! The park consists of 11 acres with 630 feet of lakefrontage.  Picnic areas include picnic tables, two covered pavilions, and two modern restroom buildings. It truly is a great place to enjoy a summer picnic while enjoying a romantic Lake Michigan sunset!

  • Saugatuck Dunes State Park is a perfect beach destination if you prefer a quieter spot near Oval Beach. The park’s 850 acres include a beach, dunes, and cross-country ski trails. Spend the day relaxing on the beach, exploring the dunes, hiking the wooded trails, and savoring this pristine shoreline.
  • Douglas Beach Park: This cozy neighborhood park has a picnic area, a restroom, and a quiet beach lined with trees down at the waterline. Pack a picnic dinner, bring your folding chair, and stay to enjoy the sunset.
