There are several ways to enjoy the waters of Lake Michigan even if you don’t have a boat. Have a scenic sail on the Irish Wake, or ride the largest car ferry to ever cross Lake Michigan. Rent a canoe, kayak, raft or tube at Happy Mohawk Canoe Livery, or just jump in the water from one of the beaches near town.
Everyone should go for a dune ride once in a lifetime, right? The dunes at nearby Silver Lake State Park are truly spectacular, and several businesses offer dune rides. Of course, it is also amazing to explore the dunes and forests of Silver Lake State Park on foot.
There is outstanding hiking, mountain biking, and skiing near Pentwater. Charles Mears State Park is just north of town, Cedar Point Park is to the south, and Pentwater River State Game Area is east of town. Pentwater Michigan bed and breakfasts welcome guests year round.
