About The Sweetwater Sea Bed and Breakfast

Experience Northeast Michigan’s beauty while staying at Pure Michigan’s newest boutique inn- The Sweetwater Sea Bed and Breakfast. The inn was purpose-built for your comfort while enjoying warm hospitality, homemade breakfasts, and the beautiful vistas of Lake Huron. Imagine enjoying that first cup of coffee with spectacular views of Michigan’s sunrise coast from the comfort of your room or the fireside patio below.

The casual atmosphere is a relaxing retreat for couples and families traveling together any time of the year.  It is also a perfect destination for a romantic getaway where you can enjoy all the natural splendor of the outdoors that surrounds you.

During your stay, you can expect to be pampered with upscale amenities and delicious homemade breakfasts.  Innkeeper Cecilia is quite talented in the kitchen and whips up home-baked bread daily, along with savory and sweet options. Some of the guest’s favorites include Mediterranean Quiche, Yogurt Parfaits, and Almond Berry Cake.

The inn has four guest rooms, including the Erie Room, which includes two queen beds, and the Ontario room which is wheel-chair accessible. Guests enjoy three large common areas with a stunning main gathering room with a vaulted ceiling, stone accents, and a glass wall facing the lake.  The walk-out level has a small refrigerator and microwave, a dining table, and a comfortable TV area.  It opens directly to the patio, where the large fire cauldron gives the flicker and warmth of a big gas-fueled campfire. And did we mention the beach and views beyond?

Oscoda Canoe Rental

Get on the Au Sable River! It is one of Michigans largest rivers and one that winds through wilderness and the Huron National Forest. If you get on the river early you will likely see deer, beavers, eagles and a variety of water foul. The river current is slow and friendly making it ideal for young and old. Kayak, canoe or float down the river!  Whatever you choose, being on the water is the most fun and refreshing way to take in the natural beauty of the up north woods.

Red Hawk Golf Course

For the avid Golfer, we recommend Red Hawk Golf Corse in East Tawas. It is a destination course designed by Arthur Hills. Set amongst an old forest, there is shade and atmosphere that you can not get anywhere else. You won’t find flatland here, instead you’ll find high elevations and unexpected contours, without a distraction or intrusion in sight. A beautifully manicured and well maintained course. It is the best on the Sunrise side of the state.  It is a very popular place, reservations are strongly encouraged.
